Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Google Wallet, as an integral part of the Google Pay payment system, is a digital wallet that enables you to make payments via your Android smart phone or other mobile devices that support Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. You can pay at all POS terminals that support contactless payments.

The main advantages are:

• While making the payment it is not necessary to have the card on you or to bring it out of the wallet or bag.

• Security during the payment is very high, as while making the payment you use the digitized card, i.e., a ‘token’ that is different from the card number. The card number is never displayed.

• Terminals accepting payments through Google Wallet may be located via the Google map application.

Security and privacy are embedded in all aspects of the Google Wallet to keep your card information protected. When you make a payment by tapping your Android phone, Google Wallet does not share your card number with the business, ensuring that your payment information remains secure.

Note: Ensure your phone is protected by using authentication settings (PIN, fingerprints, etc.) to unlock the screen.

To begin using the Google Wallet Digital Wallet, your phone or other devices should:

  • Have the Android operative system installed
  • Have Internet access
  • Support Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.

NOTE: Due to Apple limitations, for the time being Google Pay does not work on IOS operative system devices.

  1. Download the Google Wallet application from the Play Store and open it in your Android device.
  2. Click the option to add a new card within the application.
  3. Enter manually the information of your card issued by ProCredit Bank, including the card number, expiry date, CVV, your name and surname, address, state, and phone number. Also, you should accept the Bank’s Terms and Conditions.
  4. Google Wallet verifies the card information with the issuing authority (the bank). This process:

a). Checks the accuracy of the card data (card number, expiry date, CVV).
b). Creates a digital token (a unique identifier for the card) if the details are correct. This token replaces the card’s number and is used to carry out transactions, enhancing security.
c). Finally, requires you to confirm adding the card to Google Wallet and Google Pay using a One Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered phone number.
d). In cases when it is not possible to activate the card in the Google Wallet, then you will be given the opportunity to activate it by calling the ProCredit Bank Contact Center in the numbers 049555555 or 038555555.

  5. Once authenticated and the token is created, Google Wallet activates the card. You will receive an SMS notification confirming the card is ready for contactless payments, online purchases, and other transactions supported by this application.

All MasterCard cards issued by ProCredit Bank, including debit and credit cards for private and business clients, are supported by Google Wallet.

Note: Near Field Communication (NFC) should be enabled to make contactless payments. To switch on NFC, check your phone settings.

Google Wallet can be used at all POS terminals (including Soft POS) that support contactless payments both domestically and internationally and that support MasterCard cards.

Google Pay is accepted at all terminals displaying one of the following logos:

Depending on the amount of payment pressed on the sale points – POS terminal, there are two potential payment methods:

  • For amounts up to 40 EUR, it suffices for the phone (screen) to be unlocked and brought close to the POS, and with a slight touch, the payment is automatically executed.
  • For amounts 40-500 EUR, the phone (screen) must be unlocked and brought close to the POS terminal, and after the amount is read, the transactions should be verified using the card’s PIN. After the phone authentication, the payment is made with one slight touch on the POS terminal.

Note: Authentication may be required for values under 50 EUR too, depending on Google’s assessment of the Android device.

Payments are made using the NFC technology, so there is no need for Internet access.
